NCUR Abstract Workshops:
The Adrian Tinsley Program (ATP) and the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) will host two abstract writing workshops for the National Conference of Undergraduate Research (NCUR), which will be held in Missoula, Montana in April 2010. Abstracts can be submitted online at the NCUR website (http://www.umt.edu/ncur2010/) beginning 12 October 2009 and continuing until 4 December 2009. As students (working with their faculty mentors) begin working on their abstracts and research projects, we are offering an additional review of the abstract by faculty familiar with the NCUR standard. If you have students who will be applying to NCUR, please encourage them to bring a completed abstract to one of the workshops.
The days and times are as follows:
Monday, 26 October 2009, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Honors Center (lower level, Maxwell Library)
Thursday, 12 November 2009, 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm in the OUR (room 200 Maxwell Library)
Workshops will be facilitated by Dr. Peter Saccocia (Natural Sciences/Math), Dr. Steven Haefner (Natural Sciences), Dr. Richard Wright (Social Sciences) & Dr. Lee Torda (Humanities & Fine and Performing Arts).
