Fall and Spring Walking Tours

We invite you to join us for a walking tour of the Bridgewater State College campus. These tours are led by one of our current students. You will have the opportunity to see our entire campus and hear about Bridgewater State from a student's perspective. Campus walking tours take approximately 90 minutes and depart from the Admissions Office at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00p.m. Monday through Thursday when classes are in session. Please note, if you are attending a tour during the week of April 20-23rd your tour may be departing from the Moakley Center; please see your confirmation form for more details.

Spring tours begin on Wednesday, January 20th and end on Monday, May 3rd. Please be advised that we cannot offer tours on the following dates: February 15th, March 8th -12th, April 19th and May 4th -23rd.

What to expect while on tour
  • The BSC Guides will be leading you on a 90 minute, 2.5 mile WALKING tour of the campus. Be sure to have appropriate footwear.
  • Bridgewater State College is in the heart of New England, therefore the weather can be unpredictable. Be sure to dress appropriately and to bring a bottle of water if the forecast is for warmer weather.
  • Tours are rain or shine. However, in the event that we receive a forecast of thunder and lightning from the National Weather Service, the tour is subject to cancellation per our discretion for safety reasons and we will contact you at the telephone number provided on your registration form.
  • You will be exposed to both sides of our institution: academics and social life.
  • Along the tour, you will see a residence hall, the Athletic facilities, the Technology Center, our Campus Center, and the Library which houses the Academic Achievement Center and much more!
  • Please inform us of any special accommodations needed due to disability or other factors at least two weeks prior to your visit.

Friday Information Sessions

Information Sessions, conducted by a member of the Admissions Office staff are offered on Friday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in the Fall and Spring. A guided tour of the campus follows each session at 11:00 a.m. Reservations are recommended, please make your reservation online.

Please be informed that on Friday, April 23rd we will be holding two Information Sessions and tours in the Moakley Center. The first Information Session will be held at 10:00am followed by a tour at 11:00am while the second Information Session will be held at 1:00pm followed by a tour at 2:00pm.

There will not be an Information Session on April 30th; however we will have a tour at 11:00am leaving from the Office of Admissions, Gates House. If you would like to register for this tour please call (508)531-2832.

Friday Information Sessions are held at either the Moakley Center or Horace Mann Auditorium. Visitors will find parking in the Moakley Center lot or the Harrington Lot. Get directions to the Moakley Center. View campus map.

Group Visits

Bridgewater State College offers schools, businesses and other organizations the opportunity to bring groups of interested students to visit our campus. Please note that group visits are by appointment only and require at least a two-week advance notice, and are not offered during exceptionally busy admissions times.

Saturdays at Bridgewater

Our Saturday open houses are designed to provide a thorough introduction to BSC and all that the college has to offer - while making the best use of your time. Each session begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes by 1:00pm. Program highlights include:

  • Continental breakfast
  • President's welcome
  • Media presentation
  • Question and answer session
  • Student-conducted campus tours

The program also provides information on the admissions process, financial aid, academic and student life.

Saturdays at Bridgewater 2009:

  • November 7th, 2009 - School of Arts and Science
  • November 14th, 2009 - School of Business

Athletic Open House - Sunday, November 1st, 2009

Our Sunday Athletic Open House is designed to provide a thorough introduction to Bridgewater State College Athletics and all that the college has to offer - while making the best use of your time. The program begins at 1:00pm and concludes by 3:00pm. Program highlights include:

  • Light Refreshments
  • Athletic Director's welcome
  • Media presentation
  • Meet with the Coaches
  • Question and answer session
  • Student-conducted campus tours

BSC Aviation Training Center Open House Schedule

For students who are interested in a career in Aviation Science, Bridgewater State College offers a unique opportunity to visit our own Flight Training facility in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Through a series of open houses, students will be able to see where they will be getting their flight training and in what type of aircraft.
