The Dr. V. James DiNardo Award for Excellence in Teaching

In 1984 this award was established by the Alumni Association in honor of Dr. V. James DiNardo, Executive Vice President Emeritus. Each year this award is presented to a current member of the Bridgewater State University faculty in recognition of excellence in teaching.

Award Criteria

The nominee demonstrates:

  • mastery of subject matter

  • an enthusiastic and intellectually stimulating teaching style

  • empathy for and keen interest in students

  • effective modes of communication

  • meaningful evaluation of students' progress
     

Nominations should address each of the above criteria in a detailed and specific manner.

Faculty ineligible for nomination are:

  • part-time faculty and faculty who do not have continuing appointments

  • faculty who are currently being evaluated for tenure or promotion

  • faculty on sabbatical leave or leave of absence

  • faculty who have taught at Bridgewater State University fewer than three years
     

Administrators, faculty, students and alumni may nominate more than one candidate. Please use a separate nomination form for each candidate. The Major Awards committee will contact you if additional information is needed. All nominations must be received by February 11, 2013. The award will be presented at the president's Faculty Awards for Excellence ceremony in the spring.
