Bridgewater State University's Arts for Youth

Devin Chaves (Arts for Teens Music Director): This is Devin's first year working with the Arts for Teens program, and his second year working with Arts for Youth. Devin will be a senior at Taunton High School next fall, where he is an active member in the Taunton High School Select Chorus, as well as the Drama Club. Devin has been selected to be a part of the Southeastern Massachusetts Music Festival Chorus since his seventh grade year. He has also advanced further in competition, and has twice been selected to be a part of the prestigious Massachusetts All-State Festival Chorus, which includes performing at Boston's Symphony Hall. Previously, Devin has been the assistant music director for the Joseph H. Martin School's production of The Wiz, and more recently, has been the music director for the production of Once On This Island. In addition, Devin worked this past spring as musical director for the AfY Spring Musical Revue “A Kid’s Show of Shows!” Devin has always enjoyed a background in musical theater, and over the years has also served as the accompanist for local choirs and organizations. He had so much fun at Arts for Youth last summer, and is now looking forward to working on 2 great shows this summer with the teens!
