Bridgewater State University's Arts for Youth

This summer's Arts for Youth Interns include:

Nick McGee attended AfY from the time he was in 3rd grade to 8th grade, and now he's back for his second year as an intern! In the fall, Nick will be entering his senior year at Bridgewater- Raynham Regional High School.  Nick's very interested in film and television production, has been making short films since elementary school, and has been advancing his skills in the art ever since - Nick loves filmmaking more than anything! He's currently a regular volunteer at Bridgewater Television where he films/edits events around town, and also works as a production assistant in the studio. Last summer, Nick was a director, producer, and editor of a film in the 48 Hour Film Project: Providence.  He will be producing two more films this summer as part of the same film project - another one in Providence, and one in Boston. Nick has also been seen on stage in the B-R Raynwater Spring Musicals in years past.

Danielle MacNeil is 19 years old and this is her third year working as an intern at the Arts For Youth Program. She is majoring in Illustration as a sophmore at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. She mainly enjoys working with pen, charcol, pastels and a variety of mixed media. In her senior year at East Bridgewater High School, she was Vice President of the Art Club. Along with the arts, Danielle is also heavily influenced by many varities of music and photography. This is Danielle's third year working as an intern at the Arts For Youth Program and cannot wait to start another great summer!

Dan Lynch participated in the Arts for Youth program for six years, and claims they were some of the best summers of his life so far! Dan currently attends Bridgewater Raynham Regional High School. This year will be his first year working as an intern for AfY.  He has been interested in visual arts and digital arts for some time now, and continues to pursue studying both fields. Dan is an active member of his high school robotics team, where he lends a hand in creating their team's website. He is super excited for this summer and knows it will be a blast!

Junie Coelho is 18 years old and going to be a sophomore at Emerson College this upcoming fall. She is an English and Secondary Education major, but has an interest in all the arts, particularly visual arts and musical theater. She was treasurer of both the art and drama club throughout her high school years, and continues to be involved in both art and theater as extracurricular activities at Emerson. This summer will be Junie’s third year working at Arts for Youth, and she is once again looking forward to having fun while teaching visual arts workshops, co-teaching the new AfY class on Mask Making, and assisting in both the art and drama classrooms.

Corey Cadigan is 18 years old and will be attending Bridgewater State University in the fall, majoring in Theatre Education. He recently graduated from West Bridgewater High School, were he was the Vice President of the Drama and Diversity Clubs, as well as an anchor for WBTV Wildcat News. He is excited to be back again for his second AFY summer. No stranger to the stage, Corey has performed in community and professional productions since he was in kindergarten. Some favorite roles include Eddie (13), Barfee (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Ben (The Secret Garden), Seymour (Little Shop of Horrors), Mr. Bumble (Oliver!), Jesus (Godspell), and Father Virgil (Nunsense: the Mega-Musical).  He has studied Musical Theater at the Starline Academy for five years, and Vocal Performance with Maryte Bizinkauskas for six years. He can’t wait to get back to creating artistic projects of all kinds with the amazing AFY campers and staff!
