Bridgewater State University's Arts for Youth

Mary Coelho (Visual Arts Teacher):  Mary opened her own art studio/business in 1984, where she works in a variety of media creating art projects to sell to businesses and individuals.  She works extensively in mural making, teaching this art form privately, as well as in the classroom, to children of all ages.  She has volunteered and worked in the EB Public schools, the EB Evening Practical Arts Program for adults, and in after school programs for several years. She has taught art lessons in her studio for over 9 years, and occasionally offers private lessons.  She has been involved in various art festivals as both artist and organizer, and was a past Chair of the East Bridgewater Arts Council.  She is currently taking courses in metals and ceramics at BSC, and is beginning three new art grants. This will be her third summer teaching at AfY; the atmosphere and love for learning is very positive, and she finds that there is nothing more rewarding than teaching something you love to those kids who love learning, like the campers at Arts for Youth.
