Neil Reilly

Neil Reilly has completed his first year at Boston Conservatory of Music Dance and theater as a student in composition.  He is a graduate of Coyle & Cassidy High School where he was a member of the national Honor Society.  Having studied music formally since the age of seven; he is trained in violin, arranging, musical theory, piano, conducting, voice, and trumpet.  He has conducted, arranged for, and performed in the Coyle & Cassidy Concert Ensembles for four years, as a violinist, and tenor.  He has also been to Senior District Music Festivals, and performed as a tenor in the chorus, as well as placing second in their composition contest.  He has also been awarded the Marine’s Award for Excellence in Music, the National Choral Award, and the John Phillip Sousa Band Award.  He is the in-house arranger and tenor for the a cappella choir “The Saturday Afternoon Thespians of Boston”.  His experiences in teaching include working for the Taunton public Schools in their musical theater program at Martin Middle School, serving as musical director as well as working for Arts for Youth since 2006, in the summer, spring and fall sessions as an intern and musical director for the Arts for Teens program’s production of Into the Woods.  This summer he will be serving as Musical Director for Arts for Teens productions Bye, Bye Birdie and Seussical.  His love for teaching and sharing his passion for music and art, especially with children, is only surpassed by his love for music itself.  He looks forward to spending another wonderful summer at AfY.
