Assessment of Academic Programs

This section of the Assessment Guidebook applies the general steps of academic assessment to the specific task of academic program assessment. "Academic program" refers here to a major, minor, concentration, or a cross-cutting program such as First Year Seminar. The overall purpose of program assessment is to measure the extent to which students are meeting the program standards (for accreditation, licensure, etc.) and/or intended learning outcomes (department mission or learning outcomes, etc.).
