Master of Science Degree in Athletic Training (ATEP)

This program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) and prepares the athletic training student with the necessary academic and clinical experiences to sit for the National Athletic Trainer’s Association (NATA) Board of Certification (BOC) examination. The entry-level program is designed for individuals who may have an undergraduate degree in another field, but would now like to become a BOC certified athletic trainer. The program includes courses in injury prevention, recognition, assessment and immediate care of athletic injuries; health care administration; and professional development and responsibility.

Application into the ATEP must be done through the College of Graduate Studies. Click on the link below to learn about Application Instructions and Requirements. International students may also attain critical information at that site.

The ATEP is a full-time two year graduate degree DAY program with classes beginning in mid-August. Application into this cohort program is February 1 with acceptance notification completed by March 15. Theory and laboratory classes tend to be taught on Tuesday and Thursday mornings with daily clinical rotations occurring every afternoon and weekend days.
