The BSU Aviation Training Center is located at the New Bedford Regional Airport, in the historic city of New Bedford, Massachusetts. It is about a 1/2 hr ride from the Campus to the aviation training center. Our facility is on the northwest side of the airport via New Plainville Rd, next to the north ramp area, also commonly referred to as the BSU ramp.

Located just south of Boston Massachusetts and a four hour drive east of New York city, the BSU Aviation Training Center is an ideal location for the Professional Pilot Program. The training center is situated within the busiest airspace in the world, the U.S. Northeast Corridor, between Boston and Washington, D.C.. New Bedford Regional Airport provides an Air Traffic Control tower, two 5000 ft runways and both precision and non-precision instrument approach procedures.  Students will also utilize larger and smaller airports throughout the region.

Students are monitored with radar services and utilize an array of instrument landing systems during their training. BSU students experience year-round flight training, giving them the advantage of working in adverse weather conditions.  

Professional pilots must confront challenging weather on a daily basis.  At BSU, we train our students for real-world flying. Our coastal location also provides access to mountainous regions to the north and northwest, giving our students even more diverse flight training experience!

The BSU training center provides a comfortable atmosphere for learning with Dispatch, break room/snack room, briefing areas, classroom and wireless internet access throughout the entire facility.

BSU Dispatch oversees all ground, simulator and flight training at the airport. Our administrative and instructional staff are experienced and always available to assist our students during their time BSU Aviation!
