Dr. Mancini's research interests include the biochemistry of African trypanosomes, the cause of sleeping sickness, as well as public health microbiology and microbial pathogenesis. Dr. Mancini's leisure interests include music (both performance and support for music education), gardening, and community service, most of which involve her family, friends, and, occasionally, pets
