The Department of Economics in the School of Business at Bridgewater State College (BSC) hosted its quarterly Business Speaker Series Event on April 17 in the Moakley Auditorium at BSC. The Panelist Discussion focused on the current economic situation and the effect the Economic Stimulus Package will have on the local economy, and its impact on BSC directly.The event, which was sponsored by the Center for Entrepreneurship Studies (CES) at BSC, was hosted by the Department of Economics and moderated by Dr. Michael Jones, Assistant Professor of Economics. Michael Draper is responsible for leading Network World's operations, information technology and corporate services functions. Ms. Donlan is the founder and former publisher of Women's Business Boston, a 25,000 controlled-circulation newspaper devoted to women in businesses in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. She is a regular guest discussing women's business issues on New England Cable News' Business Day.
Lisa DiDullio, Director of the Project Management Office, at Boston-based Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, spoke to a group of students, faculty, administrators, and community members at the January 29 Business Breakfast Series. Ms. DiTullio is author of the book, Simple Solutions: How "Enterprise Project Management" Supported Harvard Pilgrim Health Care's Journey from Near Collapse to #1.
James Dunphy, accounting graduate of the class of 1989, spoke to an audience with large representation of today's accounting students. Mr. Dunphy, first president and CEO of the community bank, Hampshire First Bank, spoke to students about the foundation he developed at BSC. He also credited his parents, who were in attendance, for instilling a work ethic that has drawn the attention of his superiors at every stage of his career. After his remarks, he took questions from the audience about current events in banking.
