The BSU Foundation has generously provided funding to assist students in completing unpaid credit-bearing internships. Several awards in the amount of $2000 each remain available for fall 2011
More detailed information is included as part of the application packet. Basic requirements include:
Student:
Full-time junior or senior
GPA of 2.5 or higher as required by some majors
Secure a non-paid credited internship (not required by the major)
Internship:
A well-defined job/project description for the work experience
An academic component related to coursework in the student's major or minor
A minimum of 10 -15 hours per week for 13 -15 weeks (over one semester) or 10 weeks (during the summer session) in performance of approved duties at the internship site. (This is based on a 3 credit internship. More hours are required for additional credits.)
Employer:
Be an established business/organization in operation for at least one year
Be located and conduct business in a commercially zoned office space
Assign an on-site supervisor/mentor who provides daily or weekly supervision
Deadlines:
To apply, submit a completed application packet to your College Dean by September 14, 2011
