Internship Check List

Review the Career Services Internship Database located on the web, http://www.bridgew.edu/careerservices/careerlink.cfm that currently lists hundreds of internships within Massachusetts and RI. Internship descriptions and additional information can be found in the black file cabinet in the Career Resource Center.

Note: The database lists placements that are in MA, RI and other New England states.
Out-of-state and international internship opportunities are located in the Career Services Resource Center.

The Career Library holds a variety of directories and books that list internship  opportunities nation-wide.  Stop by to see what is available. Examples include:  Peterson's Internships, The Internship Bible by The Princeton Review, the Directory of Art Internships, etc.

Check with your academic department  for internship leads that may be posted there.  Some departments have a file system of past interns and their placements while others may have binders of internship leads.

Create your own internship!  The Internship Coordinator will be happy to sit down with you to explore your options.  Some of the best internships are developed through direct contact to local employers who may have never listed a position with the college.  If you work out well, your employer may want to be listed in our database to recruit future students just like you!

Have you considered The Washington Center Program?  This internship program is designed for all majors and provides professional experience in our nation's capital. Credit, housing, and financial assistance is available to qualified applicants.  Contact  Career Services for further details.

Note: Students are reminded to narrow down their search to three possible sites for interviews.  It is recommended that students contact each employer either by phone or email to confirm the following items prior to mailing out a cover letter and resume; confirm the availability of the opening for the semester of interest, confirm the contact information and address and confirm compensation if indicated.  While CSO makes every attempt to keep each site up-to-date, it is recommended that students verify this information.   Please feel free to set up an appointment with a Career Services staff member at (508) 531-1328.  During your appointment, we will discuss your internship options, explain the differences between credit and non-credit opportunities, and assist you in preparing your resume and cover letter.
