Senior Recruiting Program

The Senior Recruiting Program is designed specifically for BSC Seniors to assist in planning for your first professional-level position within your chosen field.  It consists of a variety of programs and events that will assist you in finding employment and preparing for the world of work.

Eligibility Requirement

To participate in the Senior Recruiting Program, you must be a current Bridgewater State College senior in good academic standing.  All students who wish to utilize the Senior Recruiting Program must make a Senior Recruiting appointment with a career counselor in the Career Services office.  You can contact our office at 508-531-1328 to set up this appointment.  It is highly recommended that you complete this appointment at the beginning of your senior year to be able to participate in all of the programs and events.  Students must also be aware of and adhere to the Senior Recruiting Program's Contract and Release Form Guidelines

 Senior Recruiting Programs

Career Services Provides BSC students with the opportunity to meet and interact with employers in a variety of ways.  The links below highlight our major programs and events to help you prepare for the world of work.


  • On-Campus Interviewing -  On-Campus Interviewing, OCI, is a program sponsored by Career Services to connect current seniors with employment opportunities in a wide range of fields.  On-Campus Interviewing consists of interviews conducted here on campus during both the fall and spring semesters.  On-Campus Interviews are managed through our BSC CareerLink database.  On this site you will find a list of employers who have scheduled on-campus interviews and links to job descriptions and application instructions.  In order to participate in On-Campus Interviewing students must complete a Senior Recruiting Appointment.  Call or visit Career Services to find out how.
     
  • Resume Referral Program - The Resume Referral Program allows employers who need to fill positions quickly or who cannot recruit on campus the opportunity to be connected with BSC students and alumni.  Employers can request resume matches with candidates that meet their search criteria.  To be eligible for this service you need to complete the Senior Recruiting Orientation with Career Services and keep an updated copy of your resume uploaded in BSC CareerLink.  You will receive an email if your resume is shared with an employer so that you can follow-up with them personally.
     
  • BSC CareerLink - View current full-time professional positions, requiring a bachelors degree, internships, On-Campus Interviews, Career Fairs and events and the Alumni Mentor Database especially for BSC students and alumni at BSC Career Link.
     

  • Employer In Residence Program - The Employer In Residence Program brings hiring managers from area businesses and organization onto campus to volunteer time to work with students through workshops, career events and drop-in appointments.  Consult the Employer In Residence page for a list of volunteers and when they will be on campus.
     

  • Work N' Serve Expo - Each fall Career Services along with the Community Service Center sponsor the Work 'N' Serve Expo.  Meet employers and organizations looking to fill full-time professional positions, internships and community service/volunteer opportunities in all fields.
     

  • Workplace Protocol - A program designed to help students learn the principles of social and business protocol.  Topics include:
     Introductions and Telephone Manner,  Effective Communication (Speaking, Writing and Using Technology), and a special meal focusing on the Essentials of Dining.  Dr. Wayne Phillips, BSC Professor Emeritus of Elementary & Early Childhood Education and author of "The Concise Guide to Executive Etiquette" is the featured presenter for these programs.  Details provided at Business Dinner.
     

  • Gearing Up for the Education Job Market - This event provides teacher candidates with the opportunity to hear from hiring managers about tips and strategies for their job search in a panel discussion format.  Candidates are then offered the opportunity to meet and network with hiring managers from regional schools in advance of the typical hiring season.  This is a great opportunity for education majors to get a jumpstart on their job search.
     

  • Annual Job Fair - Each spring, Career Services sponsors an annual job fair.  Meet with employers from over 60 organizations recruiting seniors for full-time professional positions in all fields.
     

  • Mock Interview Program - Each spring, Career Services sponsors the Mock Interview Program.  This event is a great opportunity for seniors to practice interviewing skills as well as obtain valuable feedback from top-notch employers and Bridgewater State College alumni who do the hiring for their industries 
     

  • Senior Job Search Boot Camp - This program is offered during the spring semester.  The Boot Camps' Transition Workshop Series and the Senior Expo provide seniors with tools and information to help them transition from student to professional.

The Transition Workshop Series is presented by recruiters and other professionals and is designed to prepare seniors for the job search.  Topics include interview preparation, planning the job search, salary negotiations and working a job fair.

The Senior Expo offers one-stop shopping for caps and gowns, yearbook and class ring orders, commencement tickets and information, financial aid exit interviews, resume critiques and much more.

What do I have to do to participate in Senior Recruiting?  Call Career Services anytime Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and ask to setup your Senior Recruiting appointment with a Career Services staff member who will guide you through a Senior Recruiting Orientation.
