Our Mission

The Graduate Professional Student Association's (GPSA) mission is to promote the exchange and support of ideas to improve the graduate student experience. By providing college resources and facilitating mentoring between students, faculty, staff, and professionals, the association will confront the challenges, needs, and concerns of graduate students.

Our Purpose

The purpose of the GPSA is to work to enhance the educational experience at Bridgewater State University by:

  • Serving graduate students by addressing their needs and concerns

  • Providing opportunities that facilitate graduate students' academic, personal, and professional development

The GPSA encourages graduate students to voice their concerns to the GPSA student President. The President, in turn, raises concerns to the director of the College of Graduate Studies to discuss change. Additionally, the GPSA encourages graduate students to attend events held by the GPSA, which are focused on supporting the students' professional development and personal needs.

Membership

The GPSA is open and free to all graduate students at Bridgewater State University who are enrolled in at least one graduate class. No application is necessary -- all graduate students are automatically considered members.

Events

The GPSA will hold workshops, events, and services for graduate students every semester. The events are free to all members. Past events have included a graduate social and open forum, resume revision and rebuilding workshop, workplace protocol dinner, and an interview workshop. Members are encouraged to e-mail the GPSA President at gpsa@bridgew.edu if they would like to suggest a workshop, event, or service.
