by The American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of
Pediatrics, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the
National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA)."

Educational Programs (CACREP)

The Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling programs
are accredited by CACREP. A CACREP accredited program shows evidence of an
attitude and philosophy that program excellence is a fundamental goal.
Accreditation entails assessing a program's quality and its continual
enhancement through compliance with the CACREP standards. Accredited status
indicates to the public at large that a program has accepted and is fulfilling
its commitment to educational quality. The CACREP Standards are written to
ensure that students develop a professional counselor identity and master the
knowledge and skills to practice effectively. Graduates of
CACREP-accredited programs are prepared for careers in mental health and human
service agencies; educational institutions; private practice; and government,
business, and industrial settings.
Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)

The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) is a nonprofit national association
representing more than 3,000 individual members, as well as graduate and
undergraduate programs of professional social work education. Founded in 1952,
this partnership of educational and professional institutions, social welfare
agencies, and private citizens is recognized by the Council for Higher Education
Accreditation as the sole accrediting agency for social work education in this
country.

The Commission develops, makes public and applies criteria for the assessment of
educational effectiveness among institutions of higher education leading to
actions on their institutional accreditation. By this means, the Commission
assures the education community, the public and interested agencies that
accredited institutions have clearly defined objectives which meet with criteria
published by the Commission; that they have the organization, staffing and
resources to accomplish, are accomplishing and can continue to accomplish these
objectives. In addition, through its process of assessment, the Commission
encourages and assists in the improvement, effectiveness and excellence of
affiliated educational institutions.
