Graduate Financial Opportunities

 
At Bridgewater State University, we provide various opportunities for graduate students to receive funding while working towards their degrees. We have made available over a dozen graduate scholarships; Graduate Assistantships, Graduate Research Assistantships, and Graduate Writing Fellowships. In addition, we offer funding to graduate students who are presenting their research at a professional academic conference. On this page you will find a brief summary of each opportunity.

 

Graduate Scholarships

Currently, Bridgewater State University offers several scholarships just for graduates. Scholarships are available for students with specific degrees, students with athletic ability, students who have made excellent academic achievements, students who possess leadership skills, students who have done research, and for Bridgewater State University Alumni. Scholarship funds may range from $500 to $5,000.

Graduate Student Conference Funding Award

This award is designed to fund graduate students presenting their research at professional academic conferences. Professional conferences provide graduate students with the opportunity to showcase their research as well as to interact with scholars and fellow graduate students in their specialized field, thereby, enhancing and enriching graduate learning experiences.

Graduate Assistantships

Graduate Assistantships are valued up to $15,500 to well-qualified, full time matriculated graduate students. Graduate Assistants work in an academic or administrative department twenty hours per week during the fall and spring semesters, earning an income up to $6,500. Graduate Assistants also receive full in-state tuition and fees remission for up to 24 credits during the fall, spring, and summer with a complimentary parking pass.

Graduate Research Assistantships

Graduate Research Assistantships are valued over $8,500 a year to well-qualified, part-time or full-time matriculated graduate students. Graduate Research Assistantships work together with a professor in a meaningful research project ten hours per week during the fall and spring semesters, earning an income up to $3,000. Graduate Research Assistantships also receive full in-state tuition and fees remission for up to 15 credits during the fall, spring, and summer with a complimentary parking pass.

Graduate Writing Fellowships

Graduate Writing Fellowships are valued at over $8,500 a year to well-qualified, part-time or full-time matriculated graduate students. Graduate Writing Fellowships link a graduate student with peers from the same graduate program to provide support in discipline-specific writing during the fall and spring semesters, earning an income up to $3,000. Graduate Writing Fellowships also receive full in-state tuition and fees remission for up to 15 credits per academic year with a complimentary parking pass.
