Haiti Earthquake Relief
Members of Bridgewater State University's Haitian community and other concerned students, faculty and staff are ready to help the people of Haiti during their time of crisis.
The Community Service Center, located in Room 109 in the Rondileau Campus Center, is accepting monetary donations for the American Red Cross and Free the Children (also working with Partners in Health).
Stop by the Community Service Center from 9:00am-5:00pm over the next few weeks to drop off your donation. No amount of money is too small to make a difference. We will accept change, dollars and checks made payable to the American Red Cross or Free the Children. Please call 508.531.2446 or email volunteer@bridgew.edu if you have any questions.
Where your money will go:
The
American Red Cross provides aid to victims of natural disasters
nationwide. They are the largest supplier of blood in the United States. The Red
Cross is not a government agency and relies on donations of time, money, and
blood to be able to do its work.
Free
the Children helps children in North America help make a difference in the lives
of children overseas. They are currently working with other organizations to
provide immediate food and medical relief and to support rebuilding now and in
the years to come.
Partners
in Health has been working in Haiti for over 20 years. It is one of the
largest non-governmental healthcare providers in the country. It works to bring
modern medical care to poor communities in nine countries around the world.
