In April 2009, President Obama signed legislation to recognize September 11 as a national day of remembrance and service. In conjunction with ORCAS (Oregon Coast Avid Stampers) everyone is invited to participate in the "Cards for Troops to Send Home" project. Our troops need cards to send home to their loved ones to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, as well as sympathy and thank you cards. ORCAS sends the cards in care packages for the troops. A pancake breakfast will be served.

Last year over 600 people participated in this event and it raised $55,000. At this overnight event teams will raise money by keeping at least one member moving around a track at all times. Many teams come together and camp out at the Tinsley Center, and enjoy the festive atmosphere created by music, food, games and the camaraderie shared with others.
