Setup Definitions
All room setups can be defined by using a single term. These terms are used within the Conference and Event Services staff as well as the service providers on campus. When requesting or working with a room setup, using the following definitions will ensure a clear understanding of your needs.

Banquet Style - Round tables surrounded by chairs. |

Seminar Style - Rows of tables and chairs facing the front of the room. |

Lecture Style - Rows of chairs only, facing the front of the room. |

Hollow Square - Tables form a square around an open center with chairs around the perimeter. |

U-Shape - Tables form a squared "U" (open on one end) with chairs around the outside. |
Other setups include:
Cleared Floor - This is when a room is cleared of all furniture and is used empty.
Reception - The floor is primarily cleared with the exception of food tables and a few scattered tables and chairs.
Other - This designation is used when the setup style is unique and does not fall under any of the other definitions.
Standard - Many rooms on campus can only be used in a standard format. These rooms, due to the nature of the furniture in the room or to the size of the room, cannot accommodate special room arrangements. For spaces that do allow setups, standard means that the room has a default layout that is set when the room is not otherwise being used. Below are many of the commonly used "standard" rooms on campus:
