Alcohol Service Pricing & Guidelines

Functions in Currently Licensed Areas

Bridgewater State University, as a licensee, is responsible for the administration of the sale and service of alcoholic beverages in accordance with the laws and regulations of The Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Town of Bridgewater. We will serve alcoholic beverages in a safe and responsible manner and reserve the right to refuse service to any individual who is intoxicated or an individual who can not provide one of the 3 following identifications; 

  • Valid, State Issued Drivers License 

  • Valid, State Issued Identification Card 

  • Valid U.S. Passport 

These guidelines apply to functions taking place in the Rondileau Campus Center in the Small, Large or Grand Ballroom, the Bridgewater Dining Room (BDR) and One Park Avenue. Alcohol is not permitted outside in hallways, restrooms or foyers of these areas.  

Bar Descriptions 

Cash Bar 

Your guests. pay cash for their drinks upon service. Sorry credit cards are not accepted at any function.

Host Bar

You will be billed for your guests' drinks. The bars will be inventoried and you pay for the actual consumption. 

Host Open Bar 

You will be billed for your guests' drinks according to a pre-determined hourly rate, for a maximum of 3 hours.

Bar Recommendations

For a Cash or Host Bar, 1 bartender per 100 guests.  

For a Host Open Bar, 1 bartender per 75 guests. 

All Orders are to be submitted to Administrative Support Services, by an alcohol service request form, a minimum of 30 days prior to the event.

Sodexho, as a licensee, is responsible for the administration of the sale and service of alcoholic beverages in accordance with the laws and regulations of The Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Town of Bridgewater. We will serve alcoholic beverages in a safe and responsible manner and reserve the right to refuse service to any individual who is intoxicated or an individual who can not provide one of the 3 following identifications; 

  • Valid, State Issued Drivers License 

  • Valid, State Issued Identification Card 

  • Valid U.S. Passport 

 

These guidelines apply to functions taking place in all areas except the Rondileau Campus Center in the Small, Large or Grand Ballroom, the Bridgewater Dining Room (BDR) and One Park Avenue. Alcohol is not permitted outside of designated areas, hallways, restrooms or foyers of these areas.

Additional Charges 

A temporary alcohol service license has to be obtained from the Town of Bridgewater, for a fee of $50.00, and must be obtained no less than 30 days prior to your event.
