The Jordan D. Fiore Research Prize in World Justice

 

The Classes of 1940 and 1962 established the Jordan D. Fiore Research Prize in World Justice in honor of Jordan D. Fiore, a highly esteemed Bridgewater State College professor of history and class of 1940 alumnus of the college.  The prize is awarded annually to a full-time Bridgewater State College faculty member or librarian who is seeking support for a research or other academic project related to world justice.  The applicant should be pursuing cross-disciplinary research or scholarly work in the areas of History, Sociology, Psychology, or Criminal Justice.  The awardee will receive a plaque and a check for $3,400.

Nominations and applications for this award should be submitted by February 1, 2010 to the Office of Academic Affairs.  Nominations/applications should include a 2-3 page description of proposed research or related project and an explanation of how the prize will help achieve the research/project outcomes.  A committee consisting of the dean of each school, the director of libraries, the provost & vice president for academic affairs, and the associate provost for academic affairs will make a recommendation to the president.  If you have any questions about the award, the conditions for eligibility, or the submission requirements, please contact the Office of Academic Affairs, x2623.
