The Jordan D. Fiore Award for Social Justice
The Class of 1962 established the Jordan D. Fiore Research Award for Social Justice in honor of Jordan D. Fiore, a highly esteemed Bridgewater State University professor of history and class of 1940 alumnus of the college. The award is awarded annually to a full-time Bridgewater State University faculty member or librarian in any discipline who is seeking support for a research or other academic project related to social justice. The awardee will receive a plaque and a check for $4,000.
Nominations and applications for this award should be submitted by Friday, January 18, 2013 to the Office of Academic Affairs, 104 Boyden Hall. Nominations/applications should include a 2-3 page description of proposed research or related project and an explanation of how the award will help achieve the research/project outcomes. A committee consisting of the four College Deans, the Director of Library Services, the CART Coordinators, the previous year's Presidential Fellow(s), a representative from the Class of 1962, the Executive Assistant to the President, and the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs will make a recommendation to the Provost and President.
