Summary of Professional Development Resources

Professional Development Resources

Academic Affairs coordinates resources for scholarship and professional development for faculty and librarians. These resources are available through the Center for the Advancement of Research and Teaching (CART),  the Office of Teaching and Learning (OTL), the School or department, or the Academic Affairs Office. The Adrian Tinsley Program for Undergraduate Research and the Honors Program support students in independent research and study guided by faculty. The Office of Grants and Sponsored Projects assists faculty and librarians in the development of external proposals.

The table below summarizes these resources. The uses to which these resources can be put are described in terms of the following key:

T=travel; B=books, subscriptions, library privileges; S=specialized software; M=membership fees in professional organizations; C=computers, digital imaging equipment, printers, PDAs, other office equipment; L=lab equipment or maintenance; R=student or temporary research assistance; F=faculty/librarian stipend; A=course release (alternative professional responsibility).
