Economics Major and Minor Requirements

Requirements for a B.S. in Economics:

ECON 101 Principles of Microeconomics
ECON 102 Principles of Macroeconomics
ECON 201 Intermediate Microeconomic Theory and Policy
ECON 205 Intermediate Macroeconomic Theory and Policy
ECON 210 Statistics for Economics and Business

Plus five 300-level or higher economics courses, for a combined total of 30 credit hours in economics. All economics majors must take ECON 210. No substitutions from other departments are allowed. The Economics Major Planning Guide can be printed to aid in selecting classes.

Requirements for a Minor in Economics:

ECON 101 Principles of Microeconomics
ECON 102 Principles of Macroeconomics
ECON 201 Intermediate Microeconomic Theory and Policy
ECON 205 Intermediate Macroeconomic Theory and Policy
ECON 210 Statistics for Economics and Business

Plus two 300-level or higher economics courses. The two courses, MA 110 Elementary Statistics I and MA Quantitative Methods for Management, may be substituted for ECON 210.
