Welcome!

 

We are looking forward to the 1st National Research Conference on Child and Family Programs and Policy. Many conferences provide room for child and family policy topics, but this is the first conference that will focus exclusively on presenting current promising research findings concerning child and family program and policy issues.

 

The two-day conference will appeal to researchers in academia, government, private research firms, and nonprofit organizations. It will also welcome practitioners and decision- and policy-makers. Our two invited speakers are:
Francine Jacobs, Ph.D., Tufts University: "Working Together: Integrating Home Visiting Research, Practice and Policy"
Julie Schwartz Weber, J.D., Sloan Work and Family Research Network, Boston College: "9-5 No More: State Legislation to Give Working Families More Time"

 

Individual sessions included research presentation on:

  • Child Care Policy

  • Education Policy

  • Child Welfare

  • Family Violence Programs

  • Justice Systems

  • Social Services and helping Professionals

  • Preschool Programs and Practice

  • Community Prevention: Child Maltreatment

  • Organizational Services 

 

 

This conference is targeted to be an affordable conference with three cost options: Option A: $95, Option B: $150 and Option B: $175.  For clarification on what each option includes please see the conference details link.  For individuals who wish to stay at a hotel, please see the accommodations link for more information. The Bridgewater State College campus is located in southeastern Massachusetts, with its own stop on the commuter rail and it very accessible from Boston.
