I joined the BSC faculty in 2003 in my first tenure track position. I am currently an associate professor in the Department of Social Work. I received a PhD in clinical social work from Simmons College in Boston and a MSW from Boston University. I came to BSC from the Commonwealth Research Center at Harvard Medical School where I was an Instructor of Psychiatry and a Research Associate. Prior to coming to academia, I practiced clinical social work for over 20 years with adults, adolescents and children. My interests are in the field of contemplative practices, direct clinical practice and clinical research. I started practicing meditation in 1976, and have studied and practiced Zen since 1987. In addition to my meditation practice, I enjoy time at the gym, family travels and a newly discovered love of kayaking. |
As faculty members, each of us have multiple and varied professional and personal responsibilities, as well as hopes and dreams for a life well lived. I am excited to be a member of FAN and work with other faculty members to find a work/life balance that is right for them. If you want to sit down and talk about finding that balance for you, please contact me.
