Pope and Scott Halls - Addition/Renovation

General Contractor:  Consigli Construction Co.

Description:   This project will provide 153 new beds in Pope Hall and 106 new beds in Scott Hall.  Additions will complement the historic West Campus.  This project will apply for L.E.E.D. certification.  

Status:  Currently in construction.

2007

 

Burrill Office Complex

General Contractor: M Space Holdings, LLC

Site Contractor: D. R. Peck Excavating, Inc.

Description: This 11,750 square-foot temporary building is the new home of the Anthropology, Social Work, and Sociology Departments.  In addition to department and faculty offices, there is one conference room available for campus use through the Conference and Event Services Office and the Physical Anthropoloy Lab.

Status: Complete

Crimson Hall  (New Residence Hall - Phase I)

Designer: DiMella Shaffer

General Contractor: Walsh Brothers, Inc.

Description: This 133,200 gross-square-foot dormitory building provides 408 beds arranged in 4 and 6 person suite style arrangements that include a pantry with microwave /fridge and bathrooms in each suite. The suites are a combination of 95 singles, 310 doubles, and 3 triples.  Each suite is fully wired for all students to have voice, data, and cable connectivity.  This building is divided between North and South wings and provides a laundry room, recreation room, 350-seat dining room with three food service kiosks, conference rooms, and common floor kitchens and floor lounges. 

Status: Crimson Hall was dedicated on Tuesday, September 25, 2007.  Construction was on time and within budget.


Clement Maxwell Library - Final Phase

Description: Beginning with the renovation of the Academic Achievement Center in 2001, this building has undergone significant interior renovations on all floors, totaling 110,000 square-feet and $ 9 million.

Renovations have provided a modern technology enhanced library; an increased number of general-purpose classrooms by 25%; renovated office space for Grants & Sponsored Projects, Criminal Justice, Communication Studies, and Music; a service desk for Information Technology Support Services; a new office space for the Office of Undergraduate Research, Massachusetts Agression Reduction Center; and installation of a complete fire protection system throughout the facility.


2003


Harrington Hall

Harrington Hall Renovation

Designer: Miller Dyer Spears

General Contractor: G & R Construction

Description: This facility is the new home of the School of Business (Formerly School of Management & Aviation Science). This project included the complete renovation of the existing classroom building, providing a new roof, new windows, new HVAC systems, and electrical and communication systems.  Offices for the various departments are located on the first floor. Classrooms and other teaching space are located on the lower level and second floor.

Operations Center

Operations Center

Design/Build: Whitney, Atwood, Norcross, Assoc.

Contractor: J.K. Scanlan Construction

Description: This project provides a consolidated location for all of the Facilities Department offices, trade shops, grounds, and garage functions.  This is the new on-campus location for the Campus Police Department and Central Receiving & Inventory Management.  It is a design/build project modular building sited at 200 Great Hill Drive.

Status: The Operations Center was dedicated on November 21, 2003.  Construction was on time and within budget.

Dr. Adrian Tinsley Center

Dr. Adrian Tinsley Center

Designer: Sasaki Associates, Inc.

General Contractor: J.K. Scanlan

Description: 84,000 gross-square-foot building which provides a 32,000-square foot gymnasium with an NCAA basketball court and multiple synthetic recreational courts, a 9,000-square foot fitness center, six general-purpose classrooms, three specialized teaching laboratories, and the Movement Arts and Athletics Departmental Offices.

Status: The Adrian Tinsley Center was dedicated on October 17, 2002. Construction was on time and within budget.

East Campus Commons

East Campus Commons

Designer: Goody Clancy Associates

General Contractor: Agostini Construction Corp.

Description: 33,000 gross-square-foot facility that accommodates 700 diners in a large span column-free dining room. This facility  also provides new retail space for the bookstore, a convenience store, a Dunkin Donuts shop, a two-story atrium space for student exhibits and functions, a private dining room, and conferencing office space.

Status: East Campus Commons was dedicated on October 17, 2002.  Construction was on time and within budget.

East Hall - New Residence

East Hall - New Residence

Designer: Goody Clancy Associates

General Contractor: Agostini Construction Corp.

Description: 83,400 gross-square-foot dormitory building providing 300 beds arranged in suites that share bathrooms. The suites are a combination of singles and doubles and are fully wired for all students to have voice and data connectivity.  During summer months conferencing functions will be served by this fully air-conditioned building and the meeting common spaces provided on the first floor.

Status: East Hall was dedicated on October 17, 2002.  Construction was on time and within budget.
