Vapor Recovery Tank Inspection


COMPONENT

QUESTION

Nozzles

  1. Are the nozzle boots torn, slit, taped or loose?
  2. Are the nozzles leaking gasoline?
  3. Are the nozzle boots compressed when hanging on the pump/dispenser?

 

Hoses

  1. Are the hoses flattened, kinked, cracked, or taped?
  2. Are the hoses lying on the island or ground?

Pumps

Does the hose loop exceed 10 inches?

Dispenser

Is the dispenser hose lying on the island or ground?

Retractor Cable

Does the retractor assembly pull the hose to the top of the retractor?

Hose Breakaways (for all self-service island)

  1. Are the breakaways between the nozzle and the retractor bar?
  2. Are the breakaway installed in the proper direction?
  3. Are the breakaways leaking gasoline?

Tank Vent Lines

Are rain caps or PV valves installed on the top of each vent pipe?  Either is approved

Stage I Vapor Recover

Is coaxial Stage I or two point Stage I Vapor recovery installed?  Either is approved

Coaxial Stage I Vapor Recovery System

  1. Does each coaxial fitting have a cover cap?
  2. Is the cap tight?
  3. Does each cover cap have a rubber seal?
  4. Are the seals in good condition?
  5. Is the top of the coaxial tube bent of crushed
  6. Is there gasoline, water, dirt or leaves in the spill containment bucket?
  7. Are the coaxial fill tubes 6 inches from the tank bottom?
