Federal Perkins Student Loan Payment Office

The function of this office is to assist the Federal Perkins Student Loan borrower in repaying their loan.

A Federal Perkins Student Loan is awarded to eligible students and may be included in the financial aid award package. To obtain information regarding eligibility, please contact the Financial Aid Office at 508-531-1341.

To finalize and receive a Perkins Student Loan, the student must sign a promissory note. The interest rate is 5 percent and repayment may extend for as long as ten years, although a quarterly minimum payment of $120.00 is required. No interest is charged and no repayment is required while a student is enrolled at least half-time (six credits per semester) or during the nine month grace period following graduation or withdrawal from school. Specific information pertaining to repayment, partial cancellation, and deferment is included on the promissory note.

The University Accounting Service in Wisconsin is the billing agency that Bridgewater State College(BSC) has contracted to service and bill the Perkins Student Loans disbursed at BSC. If you have received a Perkins Student Loan at any time, and are leaving the college for any reason, you must arrange for an Exit Interview Meeting. Exit Interview Meetings are held in December, April and May. To arrange for an Exit Interview Meeting, please call Suzanne Hickey, Perkins Student Loan Officer, 508-531-1751.
