Rainbow Luncheon
Wednesday, April 15, 2009
11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Dunn Conference Room

The GLBTA Pride Center, the departments of Political Science and History, and the Center for Multicultural Affairs are very proud to announce the Honorable E. Denise Simmons, mayor of Cambridge, MA, is coming to BSC for this year's Rainbow Luncheon. Mayor Simmons is a dynamic and inspiring speaker and we are very excited that she is visiting BSC.

Mayor Simmons will share her experience as a public official who is openly lesbian and a woman of color, and she will discuss the black and gay civil rights movements. Mayor Simmons will speak following President Dana Mohler-Faria's opening remarks.

This program is educationally relevant to not only Political Science and History students, but to any student who is interested in social justice and the dynamics of power and privilege. If you are faculty, please encourage your students to attend and perhaps consider offering extra credit to those who do. If you would like to bring students or a class with you, please contact Lisa Forest at 508-531-1408 or lisa.forest@bridgew.edu to reserve seats.

Let us know you're attending. Please register to attend the Rainbow Luncheon.

The Rainbow Luncheon is part of a series of events commemorating GLBT Awareness Month in April. Each year we invite a new speaker to address a different topic. Check out the previous Rainbow Luncheons.
