Bridgewater State University is pleased to welcome visitors to campus for Commencement Exercises for Bachelor's Degree Candidates on Saturday, May 18, 2013. The ceremony will begin promptly at 10:30 AM.
Bridgewater State University is located in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, and is in easy reach of major highways. The campus is approximately 40 minutes south of Boston, 30 minutes north of Cape Cod, and 50 minutes northeast of Providence, Rhode Island, and is within a half mile of Bridgewater Center. The ceremony will take place on the Boyden Quad located on the corners of Summer, School, Grove at Cedar Streets under a tent, rain or shine. All guests must have tickets for admission to the tent. The tent will open at 8:30 am for general admission seating and it is advised to arrive early for best seating. Tent entrances will close during the processional beginning at 9:45 and all guests are asked seated prior to this time.
Parking will be permitted at various lots on campus. The closest lot available for the ceremony is the West Campus Lot on Park Avenue, a short walking distance from the Quad. This lot is expected to fill up quickly, so visitors may also consider the Lower Great Hill Lot or other various parking lots as described here. Shuttle bus services will be run from 8:30 to 11am and immediately following the commencement ceremony and reception. Be sure to plan ahead by reviewing map for lots serviced to Boyden Quad.
The ceremony is traditionally about 3 hours in length; guests are asked to stay for the entire ceremony. Following the ceremony, a reception will be held for graduates and their guests at the Campus Center fountain area. (View map here)
