BSC Employee Community Service Day

Second Annual - Thursday, May 20, 2010

 

In support of the College's core values, the Office of Human Resources sponsors the BSC Employee Community Service Day. In lieu of the regularly scheduled work day, employees will have the opportunity to volunteer at one of the three previously selected service sites. All employees who wish to participate must obtain approval from their direct supervisor to ensure that all departments on campus have adequate coverage. Please use the link below to register for the Community Service Day. Once a volunteer site has been filled, the site will be removed from the registration form. This event is on a first come first served basis, there are a limited amount of volunteer opportunities available. If you would like to participate, please register as soon as possible. The time and/or activity listed below is subject to change based on the needs of the volunteer site. Eligibility: With supervisor approval, full-time employees who have been at the college for a minimum of 6 months may participate in the community service day. 

 

Volunteer Sites

 

1.Volunteer Site: Charity Guild Food Pantry- Brockton, MA

Time: Depart the college at 9:30am and return at approximately  2:00pm

Activity: Volunteers will assist the food pantry and thrift store by sorting donations as well as helping to organize the supplies.

 

 

2. Volunteer Site: Veterans Hospital- Brockton, MA

Time: Depart the college at 9:30am and return at approximately 3:00pm

Activity: Volunteers will have the opportunity to help with the Pond Renovation Project as well as the possibility oh assisting with exterior painting. Lunch will be provided by the VA.

 

 

3. Volunteer Site: Bridgewater Elder Affairs- Various senior homes near the college (exact locations TBA)

Time: Depart the college at 9:45am and return at approximately 2:00pm

Activity: Volunteers will have the opportunity to help local seniors with yard clean-up and landscaping needs. Exact locations will be announced once volunteers have registered.
