The Bridgewater State College Institute for Regional Development, in partnership with the Southeastern Regional Homeland Security Advisory Council (SRAC) SPREDD and with John Schaeffer, President, Strategic Solutions Group and consultant to the Central Region Homeland Security Council, has initiated work on a project inventorying public safety resources in Southeast Massachusetts. Bridgewater State College's Institute for Regional Development is implementing and overseeing the utilization of the web based Resource Tracking System here in the Southeast Region.
SRAC is one of five homeland security regions in the Commonwealth and covers all of southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod including nearly 100 cities and towns. SRAC maintains an Access database which is used to inventory a variety of public safety equipment and resources. In the event of a public safety emergency or homeland security event the database could be accessed by public safety personnel to identify needed equipment and/or resources for their community. The database is mandated by the state government and must comply with the National Incident Management System Migration (NIMS) Project Data Collection Tool.
