Message from the Director
|
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Thank you for visiting Bridgewater State College's Office of Institutional Diversity website. Our institution has a long history of demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming academic environment. Evidence of this commitment can be seen through the rich array of programs, activities and initiatives generated by and for our students, faculty and staff.
Through the years, I have learned many definitions of diversity and mine is not unlike those which have come before me. Indeed, I too, define diversity in the broadest terms. Yet, I additionally see diversity as the intersection between three separate and yet connected precepts: Inclusion. Democracy. Excellence.
Our vision for diversity at Bridgewater State College is to harness effectively the energy and innovation of our faculty, staff, students and alumni in such a way that our efforts work in harmony to create an inclusive intellectual environment for all populations of the campus community.
To that end, the purpose of the Office of Institutional Diversity is to weave all of our rich diversity programming and services into a strong and cohesive campus fabric that provides coverage for all members of our institution.
Hopefully, this website will offer resources needed as we work together to expect more, and achieve more!
