The College Endowment

Why an Endowment?
Bridgewater State College can no longer depend on state funds to meet the growing needs of students and faculty.  By establishing an endowment through the Foundation, an additional source of income is provided to the College.  Each year, the President requests funds to supplement special efforts, like the faculty/student research program, and study abroad initiatives for deserving students.  These new efforts have distinguished Bridgewater among the state colleges and also serve to recruit academically talented freshmen.  Your annual fund gift helps support these important endeavors.

The Purpose of Endowed Gifts
For a minimum gift of $25,000, we can establish endowed funds for a wide variety of purposes.  We are happy to work with donors to establish endowed funds that reflect their wishes and the strategic priorities of the College.  Often alumni and friends of the College use this type of giving to honor, or memorialize a loved one, or colleague.

The Status of the Foundation Endowment
As of June 2008, the College's endowment topped $17.6 million
