SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System)
What is SEVIS?
- SEVIS is a web-based database of U.S. Department of Homeland Security that includes information regarding international and exchange students. The database includes information including, but not limited to, entry/exit data, changes of current Untied States address, program extensions, employment notifications, and changes in program of study.
SEVIS Registration
- As an international student studying at Bridgewater State University on an F-1 or J-1 visa, you are required to report to us at the beginning of EACH SEMESTER. This process is called "SEVIS Registration." All new students should complete this process during their New International Student Orientation.
- Returning undergraduate and graduate students will hear from International Student Services at the beginning of each semester as to when and where the SEVIS registration will take place.
- The following are the documents you should bring to SEVIS Registration:

- Visa
- I-94
- I-20 or DS-2019
- Current class schedule: All undergraduate students must be enrolled in 12 credits or more and all graduate students must be enrolled for 9 credits or more. See
