The reciprocal teaching method was used with a sixth grade team of 135 students with all types of learning styles and ability levels in a middle school setting. Each strategy in the reciprocal teaching method (clarification, question generation, summarization and prediction) was modeled and scaffolded from with all 135 students that I teach. Regardless of the student being part of the focus group every student was taught the same strategies and held accountable through observations, learning logs, graphic organizers and reflection pieces.
