Welcome to my web site of exemplary practices in literature based discussions. As a candidate for a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Reading at Bridgewater State College, I spent a great deal of time investigating the theories, research, and practices that relate to discussion and its role in the acquisition of literacy. This web site is a compilation of that investigation. The theories and practices along with my action research findings, conclusions and implications of discussion formats, are contained in this web site for your examination.

I am currently a reading specialist at Rose L. MacDonald School, in West Bridgewater. I have taught for over twenty years and have been a classroom teacher, special needs teacher, and an inclusion co-teacher. Currently, I am a reading specialist in West Bridgewater. My position entails working with at-risk readers and enrichment groups, and supporting the faculty in my school as we jointly pursue exemplary practices in teaching and learning about literacy.
The belief that all children can learn to read, and are entitled to do so in a manner that speaks to their strengths and needs as learners, while fostering a love of reading, is my most passionate ideal.
