Student Outcomes
The student will:

• Read for gaining insight for writing in different genres to develop students' style and form in writing.

• Read different forms of literature to gain an understanding of how texts are structured and how the literature provides examples of these structures, techniques, and genres.

• Read and write in an integrated manner that will foster readers to write well and writers to read well.

• Read critically using a variety of children's literature.

• Read critically and responsively and develop an understanding of how writers write which will impact their writing skills.

• Read literature and write in response to their reading through the development of book reviews. 

• Be introduced to challenging texts that will enhance students' interest in literature.

• Interact with the text to improve the skills of the writer.

Teacher Outcomes
The teacher will:

• Improve reading and writing of students.
• Improve students' critical reading using a variety of children's literature.
• Use reading to develop students' style and form in writing.
• Use specific instructional approach to reading and writing of literature so that students gain an understanding of how texts are structured.
• Integrate reading and writing together that will foster readers to write well and writers to read well.
• Connect reading and writing as a form of literature study.
• Have students learn to collaborate together to reach a goal.
• Have students read literature and write in response through book reviews.
• Analyze and reflect upon his/her teaching style.
• Revise and fine-tune teaching to meet students' learning needs.
• Discuss changes for greater student learning.
• Infer connections across the literacy frameworks that will make instruction more efficient and maximize learning.
