rhyming texts.
Materials:
Book: The Night Before Christmas by Clement C.
Moore, Alfred A. Knopf, 1984.
Activity:
Preview the book with the students via a picture walk.
Encourage students to make predictions.
Read the text and draw the students' attention to the beautiful
language and rhyming words of the text. Reread
the text employing a cloze procedure
to see if students can complete the rhyme.
Assessment: Record student responses on the assessment sheet.
