Unit of Study: The Constitutional Convention
Topic: Benjamin Franklin
In pairs, students are given a quote and asked to tell what they think the quote means and identify a value they feel the person possesses.
As each group reports their findings the quotes are discussed. The values were written on the board.
Students are informed that the quotes were all from the same person and asked if anyone can identify the person
Students listen to The Life of Ben Franklin by David Adler.
Students complete a Historical Perspectives graphic by listing two statements made by Franklin or writing two accomplishments of Franklin. Students write a summary sentence answering the question "Why is Franklin considered a historical person?"
