Faculty Training

Faculty and Support Staff Training are only one part of the MARC K-12 Anti-Bullying Program.  However, schools may opt for (or may be offered) only the faculty training aspect of the program, for a variety of reasons. 

Faculty training is tailored to the needs of individual schools.  It may include a variety of topics (see below).

Recognizing & Coping with Bullying Behaviors (our "core" training)
  • What is - and what isn't - "bullying"?
  • How does the culture in a school support bullying, or help eliminate it?
  • What are common situations that educators encounter when dealing with bullying?
  • What practical steps and specific responses can help reduce bullying behaviors?
  • What is the role of administration?
  • How can you help children who are victims?
75 to 90 minutes
Cyberbullying
  • Becoming an Armchair Techie -- what is cyberbullying and how does it happen?
  • What are the psychological differences and similarities between different types of bullies and cyberbullies?
  • What issues are associated with cyberbullying?
  • You see a lot going on - but what's going on that you don't even know about?
  • How can schools and systems reduce this problem and thereby the serious problems that impact school environment?
30 to 90 minutes

  • Supporting student-led anti-bullying programs (Middle & High Schools)
  • Risk Assessment in Schools
  • Gender differences in bullying & cyberbullying
