Maxine has had an illustrious career in the Newton Public Schools, first as a classroom teacher, then Elementary Science Specialist, and later as the Science Coordinator for Grades K-8. As coordinator with responsibility for fifteen elementary and three middle schools, she displayed her love of science and modeled how to convey that love both inside and outside the classroom. Maxine has been a strong influence in the development of state frameworks and has played major roles in regional and national science organizations. She is a past president of MASS. Maxine "exemplifies the epitome of commitment, energy, expertise, and service that distinguishes her among educators.
