George Martins

Now
in his second career as an environmental health instructor, George
taught chemistry for many years in Newton. He was a section leader
at Brown University for the Chemical Bond Approach with Dr. Lee Clapp,
thus having an impact on a whole generation of chemistry teachers.
George received the Richards Award for his teaching from the Northeast
Section of the American Chemical Society along with numerous other
awards. Dave Olney, his nominator, writes, "George has become
the 'elder statesman' among high school chemistry teachers for his
contributions."
