Message From the Chairperson

The Management major is designed to educate students for successful careers in business and management. The program provides general education, other liberal arts courses, and specific management education for students with career interests in business, transportation, energy and environmental resources fields, and in finance and accounting.

Because the major is conducted within a strong liberal arts framework, students are encouraged to understand how business decisions relate to society-culturally, economically, ethically, and socially-while developing the skills and knowledge which will enable them to assume management responsibilities.

Students who enroll in the Management program should seek experience through internships bridge classroom learning with organizations and industries that interest them as career possibilities. These valuable learning experiences, coupled with the college's development as a regional resource for business and industry, offer students significant contact with business and management leaders. Marketing students have an additional opportunity to gain significant professional experiences through participation in the student chapter of the American Marketing Association.
