Social Work Conference

Bridgewater -- The Bridgewater State College Social Work Department is presenting a conference entitled "Ideas in Action" on Thursday, April 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Rondileau Campus Center.

The conference will address health and community priorities in the Greater Brockton area through expert speakers, a panel discussion and afternoon workshops. Participants will leave with an expanded network of partners and additional opportunities to collaborate on specific action plans in their area of interest.

The afternoon keynote speaker will be Mr. Ron Bell, director of the Governor's Office of Community Affairs. In this capacity, Mr. Bell promotes civic engagement and community-based participation. He will speak at 3:00 p.m. Mr. Bell has been a voting rights advocate and community organizer for over 20 years and has received several honors including President Clinton's "Point of Light" award in 1995.

This event is co-sponsored by Community Solutions, CHNA, United Way of Greater Plymouth County, Community Connections of Brockton, Brockton's Promise and Southeast Center for Healthy Communities.
