Summer Piano Institute Begins July 7

Bridgewater--Bridgewater State College is hosting a Summer Piano Institute from July 6-23 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. in the Rondileau Campus Center. The program is designed for children seven years of age and older and no knowledge of piano is required.

The program will focus on class piano instruction, music theory and listening experience. Students will have an opportunity to review keyboard fundamentals, piano technique and improve their ability to read music. The listening component will make students aware of historical and contemporary American composers who have made significant contributions in the field of music.

The instructor for the Institute is Professor Henry Santos an accomplished and respected pianist/composer and a retired member of the Bridgewater State College faculty.
