Members of the college's Program Committee brought home the "Excellence in Programming Award" from the regional conference of the National Association for Campus Activities, held on Nov. 14 in Hartford Conn.

NACA, an organization dedicated to the advancement of campus activities at higher education institutions, presents the coveted award each year to a programming board that demonstrates outstanding management of student programming initiatives on campus.

This is the second consecutive year Bridgewater has earned the award.

At the conference, PC members presented a slideshow outlining popular programs the committee has implemented, how they are budgeted, and what makes them unique. The presenters were: Rachel Freedenberg, president, and Kelly Harvey, vice-president of programming, both '11; and Katelyn Rapoza, '12, chair of cultural programs.

Numerous schools applied to present at the event and only six were selected; only three of those six earned the award.

Speaking on behalf of the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership, Matthew Miller, assistant director for programming, expressed his pride in the committee's win.

"Winning for a second year in a row is a great honor," he said. "This award helps to validate the importance of campus activities and helps our students realize how they don't only excel within the BSC community but they also do an amazing job when compared with other colleges in the region."
