Conference Travel Grants

Conference Travel Grants pay up to $1,000 in travel expenses for full-or part-time BSU students whose research or creative work has been accepted for presentation at a national or regional (Northeast/New England region) academic conference. (Recent BSU grads have up to three months after graduation to travel to a conference as long as the work was completed while they were undergraduates.) Each student is eligible for one Conference Travel Grant per project and one per year. (Students who present at NCUR, the National Conference on Undergraduate Research, are not eligible for an additional Conference Travel Grant for the same or similar project.)

Students should submit the Conference Travel Grant application as soon as they receive notification of acceptance to the conference--at least six weeks prior to the travel date. If more than one BSU student is presenting at the same conference, please submit the applications together.

After the student and faculty mentor receive notification that the Conference Travel Grant has been awarded, it is the responsibility of the faculty mentor to contact BSU's Travel Coordinator, Mr. Gregory DeMelo at gdemelo@bridgew.edu (extension 2537), who will work with the faculty mentor to arrange hotel accommodations and air travel, if applicable.  All student and faculty travel must be reserved and purchased by Mr. DeMelo.

The Conference Travel Grant application, required attachments, and Conference Travel Contract should be submitted to Kathy Frederick, Office of Undergraduate Research, 200 Maxwell Library. Award notifications are sent by email within one week.
